Meet the team! We are an interdisciplinary team comprised of MA practitioners from Fashion Textile Practices, Graphic Design and International Design Management courses. We are combining our skills to assist Mila Burcikova with her PHD project 'One Thing Collection: A Fashion Concept by Mila Burcikova.' We will be working together to explore how a slow fashion concept can be effectively communicated to wide audiences that include potential customers and the public at which the concept launch exhibition is aimed.

Jessica Pepper
FASHION TEXTILE PRACTICES MA
Hello, I’m Kayleigh. I have a degree in Fashion Design with Textiles. Throughout my undergraduate degree I designed fashion with minimal silhouettes and a variety of textures, favouring knit and print inspired by Yorkshire botany. I am now continuing in postgraduate study working towards a Masters Degree in Fashion Textile Practices. Within this, I have shifted my focus towards textile design and furthered my work in print design for fashion, with an interest in ethical design within artistic and commercial contexts. I believe that I will bring a valuable contribution to this project, as I am a creative and well-rounded practitioner. I am confident with collating trend research for both fashion and textile collections, and can happily navigate Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as doing photography. I also run my own start up business selling my artwork and prints and have experience setting up and running websites, social media and marketing for a photography business, so could help in these areas. Upon graduation I aim to continue exploring creative practices and progress as a freelance designer.

Hello, my name is Zhang Yuexing. I graduated from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics in 2015. I was attached to human resources management work for a year because my major of undergraduate is labor and social security. I have some management and teamwork experience.
I would like to read fashion webs, magazines and books frequently. I often give the outfit advice to all my friends around me and the feedback of the advice is great. In addition, it is popular that I write the wearing tips and insights via social media. I took one year to find out that fashion is my really love so that I gave up my job and came to the UK to study. Now, I am an International fashion design management student. I hope I could open my individual fashion studio after graduation.

Hi, I'm Jumai and I am from Lagos, Nigeria. I have a degree in Business and Management Accounting from Brunel University London and I am currently studying International Fashion Design Management (MA). My dream is to make a difference in the African fashion industry. The economic state of my country was one of the reasons why I decided to go into fashion because I don't just see fashion as a way to express yourself. I am more interested in the business aspect of the fashion industry and how it can make a difference in the world. I am currently working on a proposal to open more textile manufacturing companies in Nigeria and after my masters, I hope to go back home and start my own fashion business
Hi, I’m Jess. I have a degree in Fashion Design with Production and Marketing and am currently studying an MA in Fashion Textile Practices. Once I’ve finished my MA the dream is to move over to California, were I worked a little during my placement year, as a fashion designer/stylist. The strengths which I poses, and believe will specifically help in order to achieve the best result for this specific project are those such as organisation, in order to ensure that all deadlines are met on time and to a satisfactory standard which I gained experience within throughout my undergrad degree, but specifically within my final year when I designed and manufactured a collection of 3 complete outfits within the matter of 5 months. I also have fashion marketing experience, once again through my undergrad study, specifically with look book’s as I had to put one together as part of my final hand it for my marketing module, which I believe will help significantly when putting the books together for this specific project. I’m also pretty good with photoshop and illustrator and do run my own blog and instagram account on the side (when I have time) so could help out with any social media demands etc.

I am Ziqi, why I choose this project because the concept of break is really interested. I want to be a part in there. My major is graphic design, so I can use Photoshop, illustrator and Indesign to layout and design. like make some poster or some about visual communication. Actually, I want to learn clothes design. I guess I can layout the book or some about graphic or element. But to be honest, I like cross discipline because I also want to learn some else knowledge. I am glad to work with them.

My name is Wu Shuyao and I come from Liaoning, China. I am good at drawing as I studied art in high school. When I was in college I chose environmental design to study, mainly for interior design. After graduating from college I decided to continue study in the UK because I am very interested in fashion and I want to work on the fashion industry in the future. The international fashion design management is the major that I study it now. I think through deeper learning in foreign countries, I can increase my understanding of fashion. Additionally, the knowledge of fashion could be improved. I have been very interested in the fashion buyer's career, but I found that these buyers are mainly to buy men's and women's clothing, and then many people ignore the market of children clothing. I started to study in this direction, I hope I have been working hard to learn more about the fashion buyer's career.
